Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney, born Amal Ramzi Alamuddin is an English-Lebanese barrister, human rights advocate and philanthropist. After graduating from Oxford University School of Law she embarked on an extensive and successful professional career within human rights and international law. Her prominent clients included national states such as Armenia, which was fighting for recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. Amal Clooney was engaged and then married American actor George Clooney in 2014 instantly becoming a household name within popular media. Before this she was respected and well-known within the legal community because of her success and skill at representing clients. Her expertise spans a broad spectrum of work to do, that ranges from human rights and social justice issues to human rights through representation of multinational corporations at court and during negotiations over government regulation. In 2015, Doughty Street Chambers in London is where she worked as an attorney.
